Biography

Natasa Jovovic was born in 1994 in Niksic, Montenegro. She started her undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Music, in Belgrade, department - solo singing, in the class of prof. Aneta Ilic and prof. Ljudmila Gros Popovic, in whose class she completed her Master studies too. During her schooling, she won numerous awards at International competitions, among which are: "Bruna Spiler" in Herceg Novi (special, first and second prize and award for the most beautiful female voice in all categories); "Lazar Jovanovic" in Belgrade (first prize); "Nikola Cvejic" in Ruma (first and second prize); special award of the SNP for participation in one of the titles of the opera's repertoire, as well as the Award for the best performance of a composition by a Serbian author (SOKOJ award); a scholarship for participation in the Maria Temesi’s Masreclass. She has participated in numerous projects, among which stand out: "Nora's Ark"; "3 catastrophes I happily survived"; "Viva Verdi", "Musician from Hameln", "Francophonie"; "Memorial concert dedicated to the Alexandrov Choir"; "Caucasian Walnut" - on the occasion of the Liberation Day of Belgrade; "Immortal Regiment" with the ensemble of soloists of the Faculty of Music. She attended master workshops: Elisabeth Attl, Radmila Bakocevic, Djordje Nesic, Leonid Bomstein and Alexei Mochalov. In 2018, she attended the opera studio of the Opera and Theater "Madlenianum", where she debuted in the role of Charlotte, in the play "Presence". In December 2018, she played the role of Boy, in the opera "The Boy Who Was Not Afraid of Anything" D. Golemovic. In 2019, she premiered (Serbian premiere) the mono-opera of the Russian composer M. Tariverdiev - "Expectation", with which she also performed at the renowned festival of Emir Kusturica - "Kustendorf Classic", in Drvengrad. In February 2021 she made her debut as Donna Elvira in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”. She is currently at Specialist studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, class of prof. Ljudmila Gros Popovic, where she prepares roles of Tatiana (Onegin, Tchaikovsky) and Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte, Mozart).
