Tamás Katona graduated in 2014 as a music teacher with a master diploma from the Faculty of Humanities of the Eötvös Loránd University, before this, he received his bachelor diploma in choir conducting in 2011. He follows his voice studies in a private way with the teachers Mercédesz Heim, Júlia Barna, József Hormai, Tünde Szabóki, Stephen Chaundy and with répétiteurs Katalin Szőke and Seul Lee. He speaks English at an intermediate and German at elementary level.

Tamás has been singing in choirs since his childhood. During his studies at Eötvös Loránd University, he was a member of the Pro Musica Hungarica Choir, he sang as a soloist of the St. Anna Church and took part in the records of all works of Béla Bartók made by Hungaroton. He also worked as an extra at the Hungarian State Opera, at the Hungarian Radio Choir and he was also a member of the Saint Ephraim Male Choir, the Purcell Choir, and the Honvéd Male Choir. He also took part in the course for the members of the Orpheus Vokalensemble and the Choir Academy of the Vienna State Opera.
