Biography

The young soprano has a connection to music since the age of 8 when she started to sing a choir and also learned to play the piano, the violin, and the kamanche. Currently, she is a student of the Béla Bartók Conservatory in classical singing and besides this, she also studies health care at the University of Pécs with the aim to get a deep insight into how the anatomy of singing works.

She could gain several times an experience on stage: in the season 2016/2017 she sang in the choir in the production of Verdi’ Macbeth at the National Theatre of Pécs. Between 2012 and 2016, she was a member of the St. Mór Choir and in 2015 she took part in the master course of Boldizsár Keönch. In the same year, Hajnalka reached the 2nd prize at the Erkel Student’s Festival in classical singing, and in 2014, she gained a golden grade at the National Patrona Hungarae Competition.

She has been learning improvisation since 2018, mostly combining Balcan and Irish folk music. Thanks to this, she could perform at the Ozora Festival in 2019 with the Kahath’ band. Sometimes, she also has guest performances with bands playing light music and jazz. With this, she could do a turn at the Harmadik Theatre in Pécs and the Valley of Arts festival. Her present hobby is examining the relationship between singing techniques and the human musculoskeletal system and with the help of her findings, she would like to work out a movement routine the suits the best for a singer.

Her future plans include traveling and finding the opportunities to become a better singer in order to give more to her audience. Besides this, she also wants to study for the sake of supporting young artists, who are stuck with their careers due to health or financial issues. At the József Simándy International Singing Competition, she wants to win a prize in honor of her teachers and supporters.
