Biography
Đurđica Babić was born in 1995 in Trebinje, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. In 2020, she graduated from the "Isidor Bajić" Music School in Novi Sad in the class of Ivana Jovanović. She previously graduated from the "Sveti Roman Melod" Elementary Music School in Nevesinje, in Bosnia and Herzegovina where she played the piano, flute and solo singing. She also played the violin at the same school for two years.
During her music education, she won numerous awards at the competitions. In Serbia, she has participated in national and international competitions ("Republic competition of music and ballet school in Belgrade’’, International competition "Vera Kovac Vitkai" in Novi Sad," Festival of musical talents "in Sremski Karlovci, "Festival of Slovenian Music "in Belgrade), where she won laureates, first and second prizes, except for International competition "Lazar Jovanović" (3rd prize).
The masterclasses in which she participated were led by Marijana Mijanović and Predrag Gosta (Master class of baroque music, January 2017), with the final concert at Kolarac Hall in Belgrade. One year later, she was chosen to attend a master class by Olga Makarina, an opera artist from The Metropolitan Opera, with the final concert at the National Theatre in Belgrade.
For two years in a row, she was a scholarship holder of the Fund for Vocal Advancement of Youth "Melanija Bugarinović and daughter Mirjana Kalinović - Kalin ", in Novi Sad. She was also one of the winners of the Vidovdan Award and the prize "Dositeja", which is given to high school students for exceptional results in competitions by the Youth Fund talents.
In addition to solo performances, she also has experience in choral singing. In the summer of 2018, she was the representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the "World Youth Choir", which gathers together singers from all around the world, and that session was held in China. Speaking of choral singing, she was also a member of the University Choir ‘’Hor UNS’’ and the church choir.
Finally, in March 2020, she was a participant in the master class of Jelena Bodražić (Lela di Braca), at whose final concert she performed in the ceremonial hall of the City Hall in Novi Sad.
