Biography

The young mezzo-soprano from Kazincbarcika has been a student of the Zoltán Kodály School of Art in Kazincbarcika since she was a child. In parallel with primary school, she has learned folk dances for six years and has been studying music and classical singing for six years now. Her first singing teacher was Géza Boros, a singer and art teacher, to whom she owes the basics and initial success. For a short time she was a student of Sára Gáldi. Since 2019, her voice teacher is Tamara Nagy. In addition to classical vocal training andsolfeggio, Ms. Kerekes also started playing the piano and became acquainted with percussion instruments for developmental purposes.

She graduated from high school department of the János Irinyi Reformed Education Center in 2020. Ms. Kerekes is currently participating in a one-year vocational training course. She is dedicated to make singing her profession, therefore she has applied Bachelor programme in Classical Singing. 

Despite her young age, she has couple of artistic successes:

At the 14th Regional Chamber Music Meeting of the Northern Hungarian Music and Art Schools, she won first place with composition of Gábor Kerek entitled Spring Song, composed especially for her voice.

In 2019, she performed as a soloist at  New Year’s Concert in Kazincbarcika.

In March 2020, she won 2nd prize at the 5th Magic of Sounds Talent Search competition in Miskolc in the classical singing category. The encouriging and positive feedback had a great impact on her to continue her studies for achieving her goals.
